…et là est arrivé Gene Hoglan! Toute ma conception rythmique a depuis changé de par le playing technique-émotif-rapide-violant-ultra-recherché du gros drummer américain. Alors que j’avais repris mes études pour une dizaine d’années - et ce, après avoir abandonné l’école longtemps-, j’ai eu la chance d’un vieil écolier de m’adonner au transport en commun! Ainsi donc avais-je amplement le temps d’écouter à fond d’la musique dans mon gros lecteur cd portatif. Et ce sont Individual Thought Patterns et Symbolic que je contemplais sans relâche. Malgré tout le respect que je dois à Menza et à Ulrich, ils étaient tout à coup devenus des débutants de première classe face à un grand Hoglan…parfait! Mentally Blind est l’une des tounes que j’aimais bien tapocher de mes pieds et de mes mains sur les genoux dans l’fond de l’autobus.
