Band: Pantera
Album: Vulgar Display of Power (1992)

Quoique je puisse arrêter mon choix sur des bands comme Sepultura, Kreator, Arch Enemy, mais aussi des plus actuels tels The Black Dahlia Murder, Soilwork, In Flames et Divine Heresy, j’opte ici pour autre chose. Alors que ça faisait déjà 5 ans que je jouais de la guitare (je repickais du Megadeth, Slayer, Sepultura, Metallica, etc.), j’ai découvert Pantera, band qui a merveilleusement su joindre guitare et batterie d’une façon très simple, oui, mais avec tellement d’efficacité! Pour moi, le jeu de Vinnie Paul m’a apporté une grande maturité dans mon playing: mettre les bons patterns et les bonnes passes de façon dosée, mais placés là où ils se devaient! Une toune comme Mouth For War m’apportait un bon kick à jouer tant sur la guit que sur le drum…
